Welcome to The Pretenders Theatre Company Blog
The Pretenders Theatre Company has been bringing the Columbia River Gorge outstanding entertainment accompanied by delightful dinners for over two decades. The Pretenders are based in Lyle, WA and offer hilarious comedy, audience-participation mystery and memorable musical productions performed by our very own community members and presented in a dinner theatre milieu.
The venue is the countryside setting of the Columbia Grange Hall located at the outskirts of Lyle, Washington on Old Highway 8 & The Pretenders are proud of the long-held community tradition of making our patrons feel ‘right at home’ but don’t let that country charm fool you. Expect to enjoy a scrumptious dinner, including dessert; delight in a glass (or a bottle) of excellent wine from Marshal’s Winery, then sit back and prepare to be amused, surprised and inspired by some the area’s most talented performers on stage. We always welcome new adults who are interested in participating in theatre arts and extend the invitation to ‘come pretend’ with us’.

The Pretenders do a fantastic job at making a night out full of humor and always memorable!! Special thanks to all the Pretenders past, present, and future for bringing many smiles to my face over the years. I hope very much that there will always be people willing to pretend on stage, you guys have a knack for making it look like any of us could get up there and do it and have a great time. Thanks also to The Pretenders infamous director - I've always had a secret hope that maybe --- possibly, ......we might see her up on stage too??!!

Hope to see everybody at "A Fatal Romance" on November 7,8,14, or 15, 2008. Tickets are $25.00 and include the night's entertainment and a meal of stuffed pork loin and cheese cake! Get your tickets at the Country Cafe in Lyle or Klindts Bookstore in The Dalles. Wear your most tacky, cheap, glittery, and outdated evening wear, or just come as you are! I have been to rehearsals and I can vouch - it's going to be a hilarious night of entertainment!
